About Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce (KCASC)

Kannada Sangha Pune’s, Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce was established in the year 2005 with a three-year under graduate Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree course. Today the college has become a multi-faculty college. The college is recognised by the Government of Maharashtra and is permanently affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with grade ‘B’. It is also included under Section 2(f) and Section 12 (B) of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956.
At present, the college offers the following courses:

  1. Bachelor of Commerce – B.Com.
  2. Master of Commerce – M.Com.
  3. Bachelor of Business Administration – B.B.A.
  4. Bachelor in Business Administration (International Business) – B.B.A.(IB)
  5. Bachelor of Business Administration (Computer Applications)—B.B.A.(CA)
  6. Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) – B.Sc.(CS)
  7. Master of Science (Computer Science) – M.Sc.(CS)
  8. Bachelor of Arts – B.A.

Our quality policy is guided by two principles: Learner Centric Approach and Safe Environment. The vision of our college is ‘To be a Joyful Learning Community Nurturing Creativity for a Sustainable Future’. We believe that in order to nurture creativity for a sustainable future, the learning community must be provided with the right opportunities along with quality education. Thus, we give an impetus on exposing the students and staff to real-life application of theoretical knowledge. We encourage Industry-Institute interaction to keep learners updated with global changes. Ours is a caring institution where staff members act as facilitators for the students to enrich their minds.

Our college is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructural facilities such as well-lit classrooms, laboratories with high-end equipment, enriched library, AV Room, playground, well-equipped gymnasium, ultra-modern auditorium etc.

At present, the College has 1894 students out of which 1027 are boys and 867 are girls.

In the academic year 2019-20, an array of curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities were conducted by the college. A three-day comprehensive induction programme was conducted for each course which aimed at making the students get acquainted with the college and its culture. This year marked the introduction of various value added courses. Some of the noteable ones are Gender Sensitivity, Counselling Skills, Quantitative Techniques and Digital Computer Architecture and Operations.

The noteworthy activities of this year are the Mumbai Dabbawala @Kaveri, Mr. Chandrashekhar Tilak on Budget 2020, National Level Kaveri Hackathon 1.0, National Level Innovative Software Project Competition, first time ever NSDL Certification Course. The fests like Pune City Business Fest, Rainbow – Kaveri Arts Festival and Tech Yuva 2020 were the eye-catching ones. The two days seminar on ‘Economic Growth and Sustainable Development’ was a perfect platform which witnessed valuable takeways for the participants. In addition to this, a lot of activities were conducted for undergraduate and post graduate students like workshops, paper presentations, project competitions, industrial visits, guest lectures and seminars by the various departments of the college.

The teaching methodologies used by the teachers is a great combination of power point presentations, flipped classrooms, group discussions, management games, role plays and many more. The college contributes to the personality development of students and encourages practical application of theory through activities under the BBA Club, Kaveri Kautilyas (Economics Club), Commerce Horizon (Commerce Club), Kolors of Kaveri (the Arts Club) and the Techies Club. The college encourages students to participate in various extracurricular activities such as cultural activities, personality development workshops, debate and elocution, National Service Scheme (NSS), Science Association etc. Every year the college conducts a State Level Elocution Competition ‘Dr. Shamarao Kalmadi Memorial State level Competition’ and Yuva Spandan, the cultural festival.

The College also conducted several community, students and staff-oriented activities like
Kaveri Leadership Development Programme, Research Project Display, Inter College Business Idea Competition, A Workshop on ‘Nurturing Entrepreneurship and Startups in India’, Cyber Safety Awareness and many more through the Kaveri Skill Development Cell (KSDC), Kaveri Research and Innovation Cell (KRIC), Kaveri Entrepreneurship Development Cell (KEDC) and Kaveri Consultancy Cell (KCC).
